This Saturday: JeRK

Our old favorite JeRK is making a mighty return to the Cadillac this Saturday. He left the house of Liger last summer for the bigger pastures of Chicago, but we like to bring him back for old time’s sake.

This guy goes hard, but since he’s living in Chi, he can’t help but be influenced by their chill techy style and jukin’ footwork. But, being a Miami boy, he brings the bass to make that booty quake.

His new “booty-tech” sound is perfectly exemplified in his latest yet-to-be-properly-named mix. It’s viciously sexy, terminally chill and all other kinds of oxymoronic in-your-face/laidback combinations you can imagine. Basically, you’ll love it. Full tracklisting available on soundcloud.

The M Machine: Metropolis Pt. 1

Hot off the presses is the first half of the new LP from The M Machine, a new recruit to Skrillex’s OWSLA label and name you won’t be able to escape soon enough.

They try to stay super mysterious, but we know they’re from San Francisco and used to call themselves Pance Party. Porter Robinson and Skrillex are in love with them, and it’s easy to see why. Their music is breathtaking, quite original in a sea full of four-to-the-floor repetition.

This six-track mini teaser takes listeners on a real musical journey, through all kinds of feelings, textures and, our favorite, strange noises! Enjoy, and look out for the official release of their debut Metropolis on April 24.

Dada Life: Rolling Stone T-shirt

Yeah so, these songs aren’t exactly what you’d call “hot off the presses,” but they’re so good, we have to share them with you today.

If you’re not up on Dada Life, well, you must be new to EDM. This Swedish electro-duo has been killing the sceene with its hard-edged grooves since 2006 and continues to deliver massive hits for the Dim Mak label each season.

“Rolling Stones T-shirt” is one of their more recent tracks, and we’ve attached the remixes from Cazette and Chuckie for your varied listening pleasure. Just remember, don’t let a hoe borrow your vintage shirt, she’ll take it off.

VASS Remix Figure “Must Destroy”

VASS Remix Figure “Must Destroy”

VASS kills it on that remix tip, but so far they’ve kept it to catchy electro updates of already classic favorites. But with this next installment, they turn their attention to the hard, glitchy bass of Figure’s futuristic banger “Must Destroy.”

The original is an in-your-face machine gun of sound, definitely designed to get the place going buck. For the remix, our boys amp up the intensity with some epic chords and sexy lazers. VASS is a house built on electro, but they’ve set the disco on fire with this one, and they’re content to watch it burn.

Check both mixes here, and listen to VASS at Neon Liger, every Saturday!

Bassnectar feat. Lupe Fiasco VAVA VOOM Video

Bassnectar’s new album VAVA VOOM is finally available, and with it comes the release of the official video for the title track, featuring some ill rhymes from underground hero Lupe Fiasco.

The key to quality dubstep is musicality, and Bassnectar is king of blending hard bass drops with fun, melodic textures. “VAVA VOOM” is no different, featuring some great video game-style runs. Plus, Lupe kills it.

As for the visuals, try not to have a seizure. This clip takes us on a hypnotic trip through Bassnectar’s mind, or something like that. We dig the all-girl look-alike rock band, and Lupe’s new hard-ass look.

Justice – Annie Mac Minimix

Justice is going to blow your mind in about five minutes. Are you ready?

They put together a little minimix featuring short clips from some of the best rock songs ever written. Everyone is in here, from Black Sabbath to Billy Squire, King Crimson, the White Stripes, AC/DC, The Clash, The Who, Queen, even Death From Above 1979.

Of course, the whole thing is permeated with Justice musical meanderings, the kind of synth lines that characterized their latest release Audio, Video, Disco.

Basically, this is pretty sexy. And even your parents will dig it. Fun for the whole family.

This Saturday: Hot Pink Delorean

We love us some Hot Pink Delorean. They’ve come through Liger’s doors a few times, and every time they bring the motherfucking ruckus!

They’re upbeat brand of electro house is exactly what we love, and their MC takes the energy up to 11. These dudes just wanna have fun, and pop bottles and bang the fuck out. No issues there.

Make sure you come out this Saturday and catch the fun.
